Wheat Dosa

I was bored with the usual breakfast routine yet needed something different so was looking for instant item which I can prepare without any prior preparations and thus came across wheat dosa from one of my friend. Its simple, easy, less time consuming and a healthy item. We know to prepare chapatis out of wheat flour, dosa!! sounds different and in taste as well! It is similar to the Rava Dosa recipe that I posted earlier we can omit onions. I tried both the ways adding little onions at the end to the batter and it tasted well as well. We need not soak the batter for long time, its direct procedure, mix well and make dosas. We will see below the steps on how it can be prepared.

Ingredients:
Wheat flour
1  cup
Rice flour
1 cup
Water
1 glass
Salt
To taste
Oil
Needed for toasting Dosa
Cumin seeds
¼ teaspoon
Ginger
A pinch
Coriander
¼ cup chopped
Green chilly
1 finely chopped

Procedure:
  1. Add rice flour, wheat flour, salt, cumin seeds, ginger and coriander in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add water little at a time to this and prepare a thin batter. Make sure that you break all the lumps. Check for the salt content add if needed.
  3. Apply oil on non stick tava pour a thin paste of batter on tava and heat until golden brown. No need to heat on the other side of dosa. Make sure you stir well the batter before putting on frying pan as the rava might get settle down.
  4. Serve this hot with coconut chutney / groundnut chutney / potato sabzi.

Notes:
  • If you just want it to be plain you can skip adding coriander as well.
  • You can also add onion to this batter which can give a taste like rava dosa.
  • It is good to have the wheat dosa as and when you prepar, if you keep it for long time it will become sticky.
